Wallis Islands’ otherwise known as Wallis is an island in the Pacific Ocean belonging to the French Overseas Collectivity. The French refer to this form of their branch of government as collectivite d’outre-mer or COM. The Polynesian island archipelago has an area of 77,000 km which is fairly large for a Polynesian island chain stuck in the middle of nowhere. The highest point on Wallis Islands is now Mount Loka which is 131 m above the sea’s surface. That is a very tall volcano and what a view!

They prefer to be Wallis and not French so they select to not fight for their independence and stay loyal to their country and their traditions and the country of France. It matters very little as the country is smart and chooses not to ruffle the feathers of a European power that has shown to not be so kind when she does not get her way.
