I can’t stand the AOL thing . . . My computer had AOL software in it when I bought it, probably as part of some conspiracy to get me to sign up for AOL. I want it to just go away.

Open Internet Explorer if you can find the shortcut. If you cannot, then go to My Computer and click in the address bar and type in any URL and hit enter. This should activate IE. Once you have it open, click TOOLS at top, then INTERNET OPTIONS, then PROGRAMS tab. Here you can change your default browser to IE instead of AOL. To delete AOL software from your machine you would have to go into your programs to delete.
simply uninstall aol explorer from add/remove programs
My best bet would to be to use aol explorer one more time and google Microsoft Internet Explorer and once you follow the instructions and everything, delete all the other aol stuff u dont want. hope i helped
Uninstall AOL from Add-Remove programes or double click internet explorer from your desktop. It will ask you whether you want Microsoft Internet Browser should be default browser or not. then say yes. If you didn’t get any warn on that then open INTERNET EXPLORER click on TOOLS >> INTERNET OPTIONS then click on PROGRAMES now go to down and tick on INTERNET EXPLORER SHOULD CHECK TO SEE WHETHER IT IS THE DEFAULT WEB BROWSER. So whenever you open any web page then system will ask you to browse with Internet.
Go to control panel/add remove programmes and uninstall anything AOL, it takes over the machine. You may find this still leaves some AOL information around.
it depends if you have aol then you have to sign on and then op Ie.
If you have no intentions on ever using aol then you can just uninstall it. You can use either ie that should be on your computer or you can download mozilla firefox or opera both are free. however with opera you will have some graphic problems
