One of the Most Interesting Locations in the World is Wallis Islands
There are two mostly forgotten specs on the map that are located directly in the center of Polynesia. These two little dots on the map make up one of the worlds least-known but most-exciting countries, Wallis Islands. The inhabitants, who are more-reserved then what is normally found throughout Polynesia, are happy to retain their independence even with colonialism. This may sound a bit weird by but it is exactly what the inhabitants of Wallis desire. This French colony has managed to keep its remarkable culture virtually intact even with all of the sizzle and magnificent of the French influence.
France put some money into the Wallis Islands and the inhabitants sat back and smiled and counted the Franks while watching the sun set in beautiful French Polynesia. Wallis Islands would be a perfect place to take a vacation to this paradise if not for the prices. The inhabitants of Wallis do not complain about the high price of everything since the French Francs make certain that their home remains their home and not a vacation haven. This is something that is not seem through out the rest of Polynesia as the French influence is so heavy-handed in some island nations it makes it hard to turn around during the season!
The French colonial influence is found throughout much of Polynesia and the French have put their stamp and their impression of what they feel that a French colony is like upon the inhabitants and the country of the Wallis Islands. This is not seen as a bad thing by the inhabitants and is also looked at as a very promising future for the inhabitants of this great Polynesia area. An important point to remember if you ever want to travel to this Polynesian luxurious location is that the Wallis Islands residents welcome every visitor with open arms. This is just their way and it is a way that dates back to even before the Chang Dynasty in China.
Known for its beauty and its subtle climate Wallis Islands is a sight for sore eyes especially after a long day of flying into this exotic locale. Perched among the honey-dew colored waters of the Pacific Ocean, Wallis Islands enjoys a constant year-round temperature of around 75° and with only a rainy season of about three weeks really is the place to be for any type of tropical get-away vacation. Today Wallis is the cultural and governmental center of the Wallis Island chain. Although very competitive and also modern, Wallis Islands practices the long-lost art of combining old history and new culture. This is a country that has figured out how to get all the perks and benefits of French colonialism without losing its soul. There are no big plans to push for tourism and as long as the air fares and cost-of-living stay as high as they are this place makes that seem like a bargain basement, very cheap tropical location.
